Today I’m having my first ever Guest Blogger! So exciting!

Many of us, as children, dream of becoming movie stars, famous athletes, or pop singers. As we get older, though, we put those notions aside, and we launch careers and raise families. In our maturity, of course, we would never seriously contemplate abandoning our lives in order to seek fame. But that doesn’t mean we can’t pretend to live the high life every now and then! My girlfriends and I were discussing this topic the other day at a coffee shop, and we concluded that it would be simple to emulate the lifestyles of our favorite celebs for a day!
Celebrity summer: Take a Yacht to St. Tropez
St. Tropez is a gorgeous community on the French Riviera coast, a place where the rich and famous — people like Rihanna and Jay-Z — moor their yachts. A place where Leonardo Dicaprio’s flies out by either a ridiculously priced private jet or private helicopter and spends his days basking in the sun with a bevy of supermodels. It’s a place where…you get the idea.
Real-life summer: Sailing With the Family
It might not be St. Tropez, and it might not involve a private yacht, but your local pond or lake or beach makes for a terrific day of family bonding! And renting a kayak, canoe, or sailboat for an hour or two really enhances a typical day of swimming and lying on the sand. As you’re sailing, go ahead and pretend that Beyoncé is aboard!
Celebrity summer: Courtside at the US Open
Wimbledon and the US Open, the world’s premier tennis events, always attracts a bevy of celebrities. Some are huge tennis fans; others simply want their photo taken. Either way, it’s exciting for people like model Bar Refaeli to rub tennis elbows with the likes of Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams!
Real-life summer: Jersey Party
You might not be able to jet off to Wimbledon, but you can invite friends and relatives over to watch athletic events or sports-themed movies like “Little Giants.” To create a more festive atmosphere, ask your guests to wear their favorite team’s jersey. Set up outside stations for ping pong, softball, and other activities for the guests who would like to be active! Also, try serving a Gatorade slushy at movie intermission or “halftime”!
Celebrity summer: Outdoor Bachelor Party
A good role model for the celebrity bachelor party is late-night TV comic Jimmy Kimmel. Before getting hitched recently, he brought his pals to Vancouver for an outdoor, adventure filled weekend! The gang rode bicycles, enjoyed the city’s nightlife, and chowed down on many local dishes! The bride will be thankful that the most incriminating photo that could surface would be Jimmy in flannel and a raccoon hat!
Real-life summer: Bachelor Camping Trip
If a groom-to-be you know is unsure what to do for his bachelor party, suggest a camping excursion! Attendees can don their manliest-looking flannel, sit around the fire, and chug beer lemonade punch while munching on other fun camping foods! There can’t be much trouble to get into in the middle of nowhere… right?
