November of Thankful

Another year of being thankful. Each day I updated my Facebook status to something for which I was thankful. A friend started this a few years ago and I really look forward to  continuing it every November. Here’s this years daily November thankful statements:

Day 1: I am very thankful for my daughter “A”. She is thoughtful, beautiful, smart, and is very loved. She has helped me so much with “E” and the dog this week as I am too sick to function by the time 3:30 rolls around. She has let me get some much needed rest and hasn’t complained about it.

Day 2: I am thankful for modern medicine. I’m feeling much better this evening after a not-so-painful shot in the bum. And now I have some good cough syrup too. Yay! Thank you Doctor!! 🙂

Day 3: I am thankful for the extra hour of sleep tonight.

Day 4: I am thankful for my church family. They are a wonderful community of people who care for each other. I’m honored to be part of them.

Day 5: I am thankful that “E” was in a great mood today. We had lots of fun playing and I was even able to accomplish some house cleaning too. Even Maizey was a good dog (most of the day).

Day 6: I am thankful for the right to vote (done!) AND thankful this election will be over and I don’t have to deal with the nonstop ads & phone calls anymore!

Day 7: I am thankful for Tiny Tots. “E” has learned so much in the short time he’s been there. He started singing “Jesus Loves Me” in the car tonight and he wants to pray at bedtime. I also get to have 2 hours to run errands, clean house or stare into space. Win-win!!

Day 8: I am thankful for the MOPS Leadership Team – a group of dedicated, creative, supportive and fun gals! Thanks for all that you do!

Day 9: I am thankful for my sweet “E”. Without the life changing events that occurred before him, we might not have him. Things in life happen for a reason and sometimes we don’t get to know why – but it can be good – very good. Thank you God for blessing me with “E”.

Day 10: I am thankful for heat. We’ve had intermittent heat since the season started. There were a few cold nights where I slept in sweatpants, long sleeves, thick robe and fuzzy socks between my flannel sheets and was still cold. I will never take heat for granted again. I’m very thankful that it’s finally fixed.

Day 11: I am thankful for all the Men, Women and Families that have Sacrificed for Our Freedom!!! May we never forget the Veterans, and the Men and Women that are Still fighting for Our Freedom. They Risk their Lives Everyday so that we may have what we have today!!!! God Bless Each and everyone of you! Thank you for the True Meaning of Sacrifice!!! (copied from a friend)

Day 12: I am thankful for my comfy (Tempur-pedic Cloud Supreme) bed. I have never slept so well.

Day 13: I am thankful for kids bedtimes. Sometimes a mom just needs some peace and quiet. Ahhhh, the quiet. ♥

Day 14: I am thankful that it seems that the family is healthy again. I hope we can stay well for a while now.

Day 15: I am thankful for my hubby. Besides being a wonderful husband and father, he’s always there to keep me from going crazy (with the kids) and take care of us. He’s truly a “partner” and is actively involved with the kids schooling, activities and even does laundry! I can take a mommy time out without feeling guilty. I love him 🙂

Day 16: I am thankful that after a stressful evening, the rest of the night was quiet and peaceful.

Day 17: I am thankful for my puppy Maizey. She’s a very cuddly dog. “E” didn’t want to go to bed tonight. When “A” and I tried to put him back down (after he got out of bed), Maizey hopped up on his bed and laid down with him. We let her stay and he’s sleeping (between coughs – poor kid) and they are snuggled together.

Day 18: I am thankful for my son, “G”. I enjoyed my boy free weekend, but I really missed him. When he wants to be, he can be very sweet and snuggly. When “A” isn’t around, he is very nice to his brother too.

Day 19: I am thankful that something so simple as going to the chiropractor can relieve so much pain. I’m not 100% yet, but I feel so much better than yesterday!

Day 20: I am thankful for the library. Not only can “A” feed her need for many books, but I can pick up videos and books for “E” for FREE. I took “E” to the library today and we picked out 8 books! We’ve already read them all – some more than once.

Day 21: I am thankful for my hubby (again). This time, I was a little short on oil for the bread I was making and he ran to the store (@11:30 PM). Pumpkin Nutella bread is in the oven. 🙂 I hope it tastes as good as it smells!

Day 22: I am thankful for my wonderful family. Not everyone has families that are fun to hang around and make wonderful food. Happy Thanksgiving!

Day 23: I am thankful for “date nights” – heck – even date days. It’s so nice to be with my hubby and get a chance to talk, hang out, run errands without constantly being interrupted by children or our puppy.

Day 24: I am thankful for my mother-in-law and father-in-law. Of course they love spending time with their grandchildren and the kids love their “Geema” and “Beempa”. I love that I enjoy my time with them and that they are supportive of everything we do. I am very blessed.

Day 25: Well, I got dinner half done and then the oven wouldn’t work. Ugh! Looks like we need a new oven sensor. I am very thankful that my neighbor was home and that we were able to cook dinner in her oven.

Day 26: I am thankful that my puppy, Maizey, didn’t run too far from home. This afternoon she somehow broke her tie down cable. I found her sitting on the deck right in front of the door waiting to come inside. Whew!

Day 27: I am thankful for “E”. He’s creative, sweet and stubborn. He’s my youngest baby and having him has changed our family lifestyle for the better.

Day 28: I am thankful for my MOPS Moms. I love the time that I get to spend with them, the support and advice I receive, and play dates that the kids get to enjoy. It’s an awesome group.

Day 29: I love my family but sometimes I need to do things just for me. I am thankful that I can go out for an evening with friends without worrying about things at home.

Day 30: I am thankful for finding creative solutions to financial situations that don’t put us in worse circumstances. We found a great sale on a new oven with no interest for 18 months! Yay – a new oven and a way to pay for it! It arrives Thursday!

What are you thankful for?
