After a whole month of posting every day, I sure didn’t mean to leave you. I was busy prepping for MOPS meeting and then it was my birthday. Then, we had a Christmas party to go to. Whew! A busy few days!
As always the Christmas party was wonderful. There was wonderful food and then the visit to Santa. I wondered how Baby E was going to react to the guy in the red suit. It was pretty funny.
We walked him up to the area where Santa was sitting. You had to take a few steps up to see him. G held Baby E’s hand and went up the steps. Baby E took one look at Santa, turned around and went right back down the steps. We couldn’t get him to go back up.
Finally, Daddy went up there and sat on a stool and I handed Baby E up. Santa was talking with G – all about this Skylanders game he wanted for Christmas. Baby E did okay. Then, Santa tried talking to him. Daddy answered some of the questions to start, but Baby E chimed in with whispers. I heard something about “cool” cars and Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom. Back to that in a minute.
Here’s the photo of them chatting:
I was able to get a few shots with my boys with Santa. No way was my tween going to see Santa. She stayed back at our brunch table.
Back to Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom. Ya know, Blair from Heir to Blair wrote a post not that long ago about her toddler’s obsession with this book. I chuckled when I read it and was all smug in the glory of no books like that to drive me nuts. Then… I don’t know where it came from, this book appeared out of no where. I read it to Baby E, chuckling as I remembered Blair’s post. And, like some magical curse, he was hooked. Now we must read it 100 times a day. I have no idea what he was saying to Santa about Chicka-chicka-boom-boom, but I sure hope he wasn’t asking for another copy. I did over hear Santa say that it was Rudolph’s favorite too.
Later, as we were leaving, my sister took a family photo. We rarely dress up and even more rarely get a chance for a family photo. I think it turned out great!
Happy December Everyone!
