This is my 3rd year participating in the Trunk-Or-Treat event at my church. I wanted my trunk to be unique, yet simple (okay, and inexpensive). A quick online search gave me many ideas to tweak. I ended up with this:
It was simple and cheap. Hubby found poster board for 30 cents each and I only needed 3. I had construction paper and a red sharpie at home. The spiderweb table cloth, spider and spiderweb was used last year. I used granola boxes (ones from Costco that held 4 boxes of granola bars) covered in black garbage bags to help hold up the eyes.
The kids get to vote on their favorite trunk. I came in second to an awesome trunk decorated like Super Mario Brothers. There was Princess Peach, Mario and the baby was dressed up like Toad. Their candy was stored in green pipes – so cool. Even my own son voted for them and who could blame him?
I had a great time and can’t wait to see what creative ideas everyone comes up with for next year.
Happy Halloween Everyone!
I can’t lie. I’m totally stealing it. I have a black kia van so that’s easy and perfect since I’ll be in a time crunch! I love it!
Perfect! Steal away! It’s was easy and fun! Hope you have a great time!
I love your idea! I found it on pinterest, but I’m wondering, how did you get the bottom row of teeth to stay standing up?
I used white poster board for the teeth. If I remember correctly, I used tape on either end and I think I had a couple of small but heavy objects hidden behind the teeth in the center to keep them standing up. I hope this helps!
What a great idea. I bought the supplies to try this for a trunk-or-treat event at my kids’ martial arts school. Thanks!
Great! Have fun!
I like simple! Thanks for posting this, I’ve been wanting to decorate the car but never think of it soon enough. Maybe this is the year! 😉
