I have this huge list of projects that I want to work on and I’m slowly getting to each one. I’ve wanted to make a camera strap cover ever since I saw all the fancy ones on Etsy. Of course, my new go-to spots for finding great ideas and tutorials are blogs. There are loads out there, but I loved the ruffled one I found.
More than anything, I love to share my projects. My friend has a DSLR camera and she just so happened to have a birthday coming up. She uses her camera a lot and I thought it would be a perfect birthday present.
It was a pretty easy project. The tutorial is awesome – great photos and instructions so I’m not going to attempt to rewrite it. If you want to make one, just follow my link to the tutorial at The Cottage Home.
Here’s the one I made. I really love the teal and brown, such great contrasts. I love how it came out. I used a really soft minky material for the back side and I still used the fusible fleece. I love how it added extra padding. It will make the camera strap so comfortable! Yay! All that extra thickness did make it a challenge to turn right side out, but it can be done.
And, here’s a photo of the Birthday Girl and her new camera strap cover. I think she really likes it! Now, I need to get working on one for myself.
Of course, it’s post birthday now, but you could still drop on by and wish her a Happy Birthday over at Tickling My Fancy.
I love the strap – tested it out over the weekend while walking the dogs at Bear Creek Park and it proved super comfy! Best of all, I received several compliments on it when showing it off – my Mom especially liked it! Thank you so much, Manda, for the perfect present and many thanks to “A” for the artistic card. I love the sparkles!
